Recently we asked a 13 year old what he thought about all that is happening in the world today. Here’s what he told us.
What do you think about COVID?
“I’m tired of hearing about it. I just want it to be over.”
About the election?
“I think it’s going to be interesting because of all the controversy. It makes me wonder if people can really change.”
Biggest worry about life?
“Not knowing what is next.”
What do you wish teachers knew?
“Teachers are too worried about tests. They should have fun teaching and get to know us more. We do better when we know our teachers and know they care about us, too.”
What do you wish your parents knew?”
“I just wish they’d listen to hear me, not to fix me or correct me.”
What else do people need to know about being a kid now days?
“We need to have more fun. There is so much pressure about everything.”
Sounds familiar? Learn anything new? Our guess is these comments are fairly typical. If you’re struggling with how to parent your kids, we’re here for you. If they live in your home, but seem a million miles away, we’re here to help. If you’ve noticed some behaviors that just don’t sit well with you, if you’re tired of saying the same thing over and over and over, or if you’re exhausted from school at home, we’ve got your back. Give us a call.
