Growing up has never been easy, but modern life is especially difficult for today’s children. The combination of higher expectations, less free time, greater academic pressure, chaotic social media, and tough family issues is forcing children to contend with ever-higher stress levels.

We know this has also created a burden for public and private schools and school districts, as many students need extra attention at the same time your resources are becoming more limited. Even schools with counseling staff may face large workloads or students whose specific needs exceed the staff’s professional confidence. The professionals at Care to Change can serve as a trusted resource for your staff and students.

We are available to assist schools in crisis situations, such as when counselors are needed to help students contend with a tragedy.

You can refer families in need of services to us, and we’ll identify the professional best suited to help. You can be confident that we will address their needs with discretion and a focus on the individual that will reflect well upon your referral. We can also provide mental health screenings to help you make more informed decisions about what services are most appropriate for students, and we offer confidential services to help staff cope with the student’s personal issues that may be affecting their performance, such as depression and substance abuse.

Help your staff respond more effectively to today’s challenges by inviting our professionals to deliver targeted professional development sessions. We provide practical, evidence-based approaches teachers and administrators can use right away on subjects such as creating trauma-informed classrooms, suicide prevention (QPR) and awareness, and assistance with specific mental health issues. One timely issue involves helping teachers head off what’s been called compassion fatigue. We’ve held eye-opening training sessions in which participants learned that the emotions they were feeling were perfectly normal, and in which they gained practical strategies for protecting their own well-being and family as they serve others. Contact us for TBRI or QPR certification training.

As their children contend with a changing world, parents often seek help on a variety of topics. Our professionals can present workshops to help parents gain the skills they need to more effectively parent their children and become better at supporting the school’s mission. We can deliver workshops on issues such as social-emotional health, anxiety, self-injury, body image issues, and the use of technology. We can also host support groups for these and other topics.
