Care to Change understands the stress and pressure families can feel when wrestling with how to make or stick to a budget. We see plenty of families who experience major life changes like divorce or illness which often requires making a new budget or digging out of debt. We want to help relieve that stress so the healing process can continue without that burden.
Jeff might be new to Care to Change, but he’s not new to financial counseling and the budgeting process.
In 1996, Jeff Houvener and his wife Julie were “living the American Dream” when their lives (debt) caught up with them. With a house payment, car payments, more than $30,000 in credit-card debt and what seemed like a hopeless situation, Jeff and Julie started learning how to get out of the huge hole they found themselves in. Jeff says “getting into debt was easy, getting out took time and a lot of hard work.” By learning sound financial principles and digging out of debt, Jeff and Julie have continued to live debt-free.
For the past five years, Jeff has worked to bring hope back into the lives of his clients. He has made it his mission to teach others the life-changing financial principles he and his wife continue to use today.
While running a successful promotional marketing business, Jeff graduated from Dave Ramsey’s Counselor Training Program in 2012. In 2015, Jeff continued his education with the Ramsey organization and completed the Pro Coaching Program. Jeff is passionate about finances and has the heart of a teacher. Jeff also enjoys teaching the Foundations of Personal Finance course to Avon and Brownsburg High School students.
Jeff and Julie have been married for 25 years and have three children. They live in Brownsburg and lead the Financial Ministry at Connection Pointe Christian Church.
