Across nearly four decades of service to others, Bill has demonstrated an abundance of compassion to those facing significant challenges, as well as a knack for developing practical, successful programs that impart his knowledge to reach many more in need.
Along the way, Bill has worked in a variety of settings, providing marriage and family therapy, counseling troubled children and teens, and conducting workshops for both parents and his fellow mental health professionals. He has also performed home studies to find the right family environments for private adoptions.
He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University. Bill began his career in a community mental health center in Terre Haute, focusing on the needs of children and adolescents. In addition to individual therapy, he worked with local alternative schools and developed a peer counseling program that was adopted by all of the area’s secondary schools. He also spent several years in private practice, and served as an inaugural board member for the Vigo County Crisis Pregnancy Center and more recently has become a Prepare/Enrich marriage facilitator.
Bill and his wife, Jean, have been married for 45 years, and have three children and six grandchildren. The couple are active members of Life Church’s Brownsburg campus, where they served on the steering committee for more than six years.
